10 Anchor Thoughts for the Moments You Wish You Could Take Back

For the moments guilt, rage, or self-criticism take over — come back to these.

Reacting in ways you’re not proud of, like yelling or feeling angry, doesn't mean you need to beat yourself up.

Maybe you've had one of those moments:

You lost your patience.
You yelled.
You said something you wish you hadn't.
Or you simply felt so angry and overwhelmed that you barely recognized yourself.

And afterwards, the thoughts started:

“Why did I do that again?”
“I should be able to handle this better.”
“What is wrong with me?”
“I'm failing them.”

But what if the answer isn't to be harder on yourself?

What if this could be a place to begin with a little more compassion?

Reframe Your Self-Talk
Learn softness instead of self-punishment and guilt. This is fertile ground for creating a new, more balanced and kinder foundation.

You don't have to fix yourself before you can begin to change.

Self-compassion gives you a kinder place from which to look at what happened.

Not to excuse behaviour you want to change.

Not to pretend everything is fine.

And not to tell yourself that you shouldn't have feelings like anger, frustration or resentment.

But to pause, notice what is happening, and begin to understand yourself instead of immediately turning against yourself.

Because when you can meet yourself with a little more kindness, you create space to see what is underneath the reaction, understand your patterns, and eventually change what you want to change.

Inside this free guide, you'll find 10 anchor thoughts to come back to after the hard moments.

Instead of:

“I ruined everything.”

Try:

“One hard moment doesn't define my motherhood.”

Instead of:

“I should be handling this better.”

Try:

“I'm responding from exhaustion, not failure.”

Instead of:

“I'm losing my patience again.”

Try:

“My nervous system is overloaded, not broken.”

These aren't about pretending the difficult moment didn't happen.

They're reminders you can return to when your inner critic gets loud, so you can respond to yourself differently.

The cheat sheet also includes a simple process for becoming curious about what might be underneath your big emotions, including your hurt, expectations, and needs.

This is for you if...

  • You love your children deeply, but sometimes motherhood feels like more than you can hold.

  • You find yourself yelling, snapping, or reacting in ways you don't feel proud of.

  • You replay hard moments afterwards and wonder why you couldn't just stay calm.

  • You are tired of constantly telling yourself that you should be doing better or able to hold it in.

  • You want to understand yourself with more compassion instead of beating yourself up.

  • You want a simple place to start.

You don't have to become a different mother overnight.

You can start with the way you speak to yourself after the hard moment.

And this is only a starting point.

If these ideas resonate with you, I'd love to help you go deeper.

RECLAIM is my 8-week course for mothers who are ready to feel steadier in their own body and clearer in their choices.

You'll also have the opportunity to connect with me and other moms inside my free Facebook community.

For now, though, start here.

You don't need to fix everything.

You just need a kinder place to begin.

About Me

Hi, I'm Anastasia.

Former corporate strategist. Economics/business nerd. Mum of two. Yoga teacher. Recovering good girl.

For years, I was very good at doing what I was "supposed" to do: study hard, build a career, tick the boxes and generally look like I had my shit together.

Then motherhood happened.

And somewhere between the sleepless nights, the expectations, the self-doubt and wondering why nobody had warned me about the emotional Olympics of parenting, I realised that being successful on paper and actually feeling good in my life were two very different things.

Yoga and mindfulness became my way back to centre.

Now I help mums move from overwhelm and self-sacrifice towards more presence, self-compassion and a life that actually feels like theirs.

Less perfection. More presence.

Because apparently, that's something we were supposed to learn before becoming mothers. Who knew?

1. Let's talk, just you and me

A 1:1 Mom Reset Call

Motherhood has a funny way of making us question everything. Our patience. Our reactions. Our bodies. Whether we're doing any of this "right".

In a 1:1 session, we slow things down and look at what's actually going on for you. What keeps triggering you? Where are you feeling stuck, overwhelmed or disconnected from yourself?

Together, we'll explore simple mindfulness and self-regulation tools that can help you feel more grounded, more understood and more at home in yourself.

3. I want to go deeper

RECLAIM is an 8-week journey for mothers who are tired of running on autopilot and ready to feel steadier in their own body, clearer in their choices and more connected to who they actually are.

Together, we'll explore the patterns, emotions, needs and expectations that keep you stuck in overwhelm, self-criticism and "I should be doing better."

You'll learn practical mindfulness, self-regulation and self-compassion tools to help you pause instead of react, recognize what you need, set boundaries and make choices that feel more like you.

Because the goal isn't to become a calmer, more patient, perfectly regulated mum 24/7.

The goal is to come back to yourself when life inevitably goes sideways.

You don't have to take my word for it...

I’ve had a pleasure attending Anastasia’s classes.  Her teaching style is calm, grounding and very mindful.  Her classes are intentionally crafted to support both physical and emotional well-being.  She has a very positive energy, and constantly encourages you reconnect with yourself.

Each class left me feeling more centered, aligned, and restored.

Anastasia,

Thank you for putting together the Masterclass on Emotional Self-Care and for letting me be a part of it.

Going into the class today I started to feel a little anxious! Self-care, especially emotional care, has been so far off my radar for so long that I really didn't know what to expect. I really appreciated everything you shared and I learned so much that I didn't know I needed to know! If I am being honest, I have already discovered that putting these wonderful tools into action is going to take some work. I should have used them a bit more this evening I will work on that.

Amazing!!! So grateful for your gentle but powerful yoga style, exactly what I need!

Christy J.

I feel ready to take on the day after her class! Anastasia make it fun and engaging. Nameste!
